Having grown up in a pub and worked in pubs since the tender age of 14, Pete went on to train with Mitchells & Butlers (well, Bass back then!) in 1992.  30 years later he still loves pubs more than anything else.

In particular he adores the City and has always been driven to run pubs in this very special little square mile.  Being an indepedent owner operator of The Lion is a real passion and source of pride for Pete.

Every detail is meticulously managed.  It's a proper pub that is warm, friendly and inviting. Lines are cleaned weekly. Glasses are frozen. Wines are from a lovely independent wholesaler. The food is home cooked (usually by Pete himself), absolutely delicious and generous. Staff are helpful and actually enjoy their job!
